Stadler Rail

Exceptional material and resource management processes helped this complex project meet an aggressive schedule.

Value Delivered

Wasatch Electrical provided all electrical services for Stadler’s new, 230,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, their first in the U.S. Because of the tight project schedule, as well as the building’s size and large scope of work, our crews needed to be highly efficient, productive, and organized.

Using and improving on successful material and resource management practices, Wasatch Electric was able to successfully finish the project on-time and on-budget.

Client Objectives

Stadler Rail was looking to expand their manufacturing capabilities to the U.S. The new facility included several unique environments, including multiple halls designated for the assembly, testing, and commissioning of passenger rail trains, spaces for receiving and warehousing materials, offices, training spaces, locker rooms, and an employee cafeteria.

Solutions

Our scope for this project included all electrical, telecommunications, fire alarm, security, lighting systems, lighting control, power services and distribution, lightning protection, audio/visual, site lighting, and access control.

Our solutions included:

  • Two 3000-kilovolt-amp, 12470-480Y/277-volt transformers, each feeding a 4000-amp switchboard
  • 46 panelboards
  • 17 dry-type transformers
  • One 200-kilowatt diesel generator
  • Two automatic transfer switches
  • 900 high bay LED lighting fixtures with occupancy and daylight harvesting
