Macy’s Fashion Place

Project Description

Wasatch Electric delivered electrical construction services during the construction of the Macy’s Fashion Place in Murray, UT. The retail anchor department store includes two levels of shopping as well as a “Taste of Macy’s” dining facility and kitchen.

Scope of Work

This project covered a full range of services, including:

  • Electrical
  • Fire alarm
  • Energy management
  • Electronic material surveillance
  • Public address/speaker system
  • Raceways for security, data, and audio/visual (AV)
  • 150-kW generator
  • Two 1,250-amp transfer switches
  • 100 miles of cabling

The project was fully BIM coordinated by our in-house department for precision accuracy and craftsmanship, including 180 floor boxes poured in place at 1/16-inch tolerance.

Unique Attributes

The lighting system was the highlight of our work.  There were 3,835 light fixtures and 3,200 feet of linear light fixtures, all controlled through Square D power-Link-Control breakers in 37 panelboards and switchboards. The system is engineered to be as efficient and energy conscious as possible.
