Kent DavisProcurement & Technical Services Manager |
Value Delivered
For Power and Utilities Division clients, Kent provides the consistently accurate and timely estimates needed to make smart business decisions. While Kent prepares design/build and conceptual estimates as well as those intended for budget feasibility studies, others on his team estimate small, medium and large utility high-voltage projects. Kent then reviews these for accuracy and completeness. He also assists other divisions when they need help estimating projects. In addition, he reviews the purchasing of this group to ensure that the company is always providing its clients with the systems they need and the quality they expect.
Finally, since Kent has electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic experience in wastewater plants, refineries, natural gas facilities, and many other venues, he serves as a valuable resource for project managers and others facing difficult challenges and needing sound advice about ways to handle them. Whatever he does, however, Kent always seeks to make sure clients get expert, professional services and high-performance solutions.
Expertise
As the son of a contractor, Kent started in the industry when he was 12 years old and has been in it ever since. He joined Wasatch as a project manager in 2001 and took his current post in 2005. Prior to that, he worked for various contractors in such positions as project manager, construction manager, and estimator. Over the years, he has been involved in a wide array of residential, commercial, industrial, utilities, and government projects.
Licensed by the State of Utah as a master electrician, Kent has supplemented his training by taking college courses at Weber State, Utah State, and Salt Lake Community College in such subjects as history, technical writing, computer programming, mathematics, and PLC motor control electronics. He has also participated in continuing education courses that keep his national electrical code, NFP 70, and OSHA 10 expertise up to date.
The Personal Side
Kent and his wife have three children, a girl and two boys. He enjoys serving as a leader in his church and spending time with his grandchildren, as well as fishing, traveling, and working on his family’s farm.
