By overseeing the company’s accounting, information technology, and purchasing functions,  David provides the strong support clients need to ensure consistently expert on-time, on-budget project delivery. Working with his team, he effectively manages the firm’s accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, while preparing the financial reports required for sound company and corporate decision making. He also participates in reviewing contracts for accuracy and completeness, and makes sure the company has the right types and amounts of insurance coverage.

In addition, David, with the IT manager, keeps the company’s computer hardware operating properly and its software applications integrated for maximum efficiency and productivity.

Also, David works with the purchasing agent as well as the project managers to make sure they have the high-quality materials and equipment required for timely project completion. The result is the expert services and high-performance systems clients need to succeed in today’s tough competitive environment.

Expertise

David has been working in electrical construction at Wasatch for over 30 years. After working as a field contract administrator, where he maintained project accounting files, prepared management financial reports, and monitored project costs against budgets, he became assistant controller. In 1994, he moved up to controller, and in 1996, he took his current post.

David holds a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Utah and is licensed in Utah as a certified public accountant. 

David is a board member and past president of the Utah Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association.

The Personal Side

Married with three children, David enjoys spending time at home and traveling with his family. An avid reader, he is also an enthusiastic supporter of his children’s sports and scholastic activities, and is on the Granite Education Foundation Committee, which recognizes outstanding teachers in the Granite School District.
